The Langham Creek Choir is an opportunity for high school students to learn performance skills, sightreading, and advanced singing technique. Among the activities of the choir are the Madrigal Feast, Fall Concert, UIL, Solo and Ensemble Competition, the Pop Show, and Musical Theater production. The choir is directed by Chris Fiorini and Andrea Loer. In addition a group of highly qualified private lesson teachers offer individual instruction.
Mr. Fiorini grew up in the small town of Palacios, TX. As a member of the Palacios High School Choir he was selected to the Texas All-State Mixed Choir and was also a member of the TMEA Honor Choir selected in 2002. After high school, Mr. Fiorini went to the University of Houston where he studied voice with Joseph Evans and worked extensively with Dr. Betsy Weber. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in music and came straight to Langham Creek High School. Mr. Fiorini has also done some work in the Houston/Galveston area in musical theatre. He has worked with such professional companies as HITS, Island ETC, Theatre Under the Stars and the Houston Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Houston. Mr. Fiorini also maintains an active role singing in the Houston area. He has sung with Vox, The Rob Seible Singers, The Houston Chamber Choir and the Houston Ballet to name a few. In the summer of 2009, he was invited to sing with the Moores School of Music Concert Chorale at the Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales where the choir won the Chamber Choir division making them eligible to compete in the Choir of the World Competition. In the summer of 2010, Mr. Fiorini went to England with the Christ Church Cathedral, where he is a paid staff singer, to be choir in residence at Worchester Cathedral in Worchester, UK and at Westminster Abbey in London. Mr. Fiorini is sought after as a clinician in the Houston area and maintains active memberships in TMEA, TCDA and ACDA. For Region XXVII, Mr. Fiorini is an officer holding the office of Treasurer and also records and prepares the Honor Choir tenor section for the Region Clinic and Concert.
Miss Loer spent most of her school years in San Antonio, TX. She was an active member of Reagan High School choir, under the direction of Jo Scurlock-Dillard. After graduating high school, Miss Loer attended Southwestern University, where she studied with Dr. Ken Sheppard. During her senior year, she served as president of the Delta Nu chapter of international music fraternity Delta Omicron. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor of music in music education. Miss Loer then continued her education at Stephen F. Austin State University, where she studied choral conducting with Dr. Tim King. While doing her graduate work, she taught choir at Regents Academy, a private Christian school.
Through her participation in high school and University choir, Miss Loer has had the opportunity to perform in many European locations, including London, Paris, and a number of cities in Italy, Austria, and the Czech Republic. She was also part of a group from Southwestern University that performed at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai China, as well as the SFASU A Cappella Choir which performed at the 2012 Southwestern ACDA Convention. Miss Loer is a member of ACDA, TCDA, and TMEA. This is Miss Loer’s first year teaching choir full-time, and she is very excited to start out her career in Cy-Fair ISD and with the talented students at Langham Creek HS.
Miss Robinson grew up in McKinney Texas. She was actively involved in many fine arts programs at McKinney Boyd High School, including drumline, concert band, and full orchestra. Miss Robinson joined the MBHS A Cappella Choir, under the direction of Melissa Logan, her senior year of high school, where she discovered her passion for choral singing. Miss Robinson graduated University Scholar and Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor of music in music education from Stephen F. Austin State University, where she studied closely with Dr. Tim King, Debbie Berry, and Dr. Tod Fish. She was a member of the SFA A Cappella Choir and Madrigal Singers. In addition, Miss Robinson was Music and Philanthropy chair of the Theta Eta Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. Throughout her participation in University choir, Miss Robinson has had the opportunity to perform around the world. She toured with the SFA A Cappella Choir to Austria, the Czech Republic, and Italy. In addition, the SFASU A Cappella Choir performed at the 2012 Southwestern ACDA Convention. Miss Robinson is an Active member of TMEA, TCDA, and Pi Kappa Lambda. She enjoys singing with the FUMC Downtown Houston Sanctuary choir. Miss Robinson is very excited to start her teaching career with the dedicated and talented students of Langham Creek High School!
